Turkish composer and instrumentalist Nağme Yarkın has achieved high recognition for her unique fusion of Anatolian music and jazz, blending cultural traditions with modern styles. With her traditional instrument, the kemenche, originating from Istanbul, she introduces traditional Turkish music to audiences around the world. With her very own fusion of Turkish folk music and fusion jazz, she has performed at a number of festivals and held workshops in several countries, from Europe to America and Canada. In 2022, she released the polyphonic Istanbul kemençe album “Künh”, consisting of her own compositions, which was the first of its kind in the world. Dr. Yarkın has worked as an associate professor at Istanbul University State Conservatory since 2012.
